The cab is tuned somewhat higher than either's Fs, so yes, just may need different EQ frequency shaping.

I meant, if an Altec 817 cab is made to house 515b, canthe 515g be swapped? I am asking from a mechanical view point.

The specs for the bolt mounting holes say 14 9/16 - round holes, for 515B.

The mounting hole for G is 15
